About Upshift Training
I’m Bobby Barrows — founder of Upshift Training, certified Personal Trainer, and Strength & Conditioning Coach. My mission? To help riders build the fitness and resilience they need to ride harder, longer, and with more confidence.
Before Upshift, I trained soldiers in the Parachute Regiment and pushed myself through some arduous physical challenges — from military ‘phys’ to long-distance cycling and enduro racing. I blend that hands-on experience with science-backed methods to create real results for my clients.
My Coaching Style
Straight up: I train hard and expect effort. If you’re into dirt bikes, chances are you enjoy a bit of a grind. My approach is tough but fair — no fluff. That said, I’m approachable, flexible, and fully committed to making training work for every rider, no matter your level or lifestyle.
My goal is to help you progress, stay consistent, and see real benefits — on and off the bike.
Training Method
Upshift Training draws heavily from military-style conditioning — because the demands of riding and racing dirt bikes are no joke. You need to be strong, durable, focused, and able to perform under fatigue, stress, or even injury.
But there’s no one-size-fits-all here. A 65kg rider with solid cardio needs a totally different programme than a 90kg rider with raw strength. Your training is built around you — your body, goals, gear, time, and lifestyle.
Whether you train in a gym, at home, or with zero equipment, Upshift adapts to your setup.
